Interested in volunteering at Stagecrafters?

More than 500 people volunteer their time at Stagecrafters each year and many go on to join Stagecrafters as a member.

Here are just a few reasons why you would want to get involved:

• Share your talent or learn a new skill - we welcome all skill levels and opportunities exist to help out in many areas.

Here are just a few areas to volunteer in: Woodworking and Painting, Props, Sewing, Producing / Show Management, Ushering and Makeup

• A sense of belonging and making new friends - many of our volunteers come in because they know someone else who volunteers and they can feel the warmth of family within our organization.

• Community Service - we are a community organization and sharing your time and talent helps "give back" to those who attend our shows and see Stagecrafters as a jewel within Royal Oak.

Usher a Show!

Ushering and House Managing ~

Main stage productions need one House Manager per show and 8 ushers.  2nd Stage productions need one House Manager per show and 4 ushers.

  • View the status of any production's usher board by clicking on the production name below - you will be taken to the Sign Up Genius page for that production.
  • If you see an available date that you would like to volunteer to house manage or usher for, you can sign up. You will need to have a Sign Up Genius account set up in order to sign up to usher for our productions.

Stagecrafters Ushering Policy

It has come to our attention by our patrons that sometimes when there is a need they don’t know who our ushers are. To address this, Stagecrafters will be using the following policy for all those who come to usher at our home.

Ushers - please wear nice looking black and white clothing.  You will be provided with an usher tag at the performance you are serving.

We appreciate your full cooperation with this policy and hope you will continue to help us serve our patrons while being able to enjoy one of our awesome productions.  If you are representing a group of ushers, we would appreciate it if you could pass this policy along to them as well.

To see the availability for ushering click or tap on the show title below.

Scenic Collaboration Committee ~ SCC

Interested in building, painting, or designing sets? Join the Scenic Collaboration Committee (SCC)!

The SCC encapsulates the entirety that is involved in creating a set, such as designing, building, painting, and set dressing. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming group of craftspeople, eager to work with all skill levels, and have a fun time together while creating scenery. If you have previous building experience, that's great! If not, that's also great! There are plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning, and you might be surprised how incredibly helpful it can be to have an extra set of hands around to help hold things or move things around the stage.

We work under the motto of "many hands make light work," so even if you can't commit to participating in the full build and paint process, coming just once or twice is helpful in the long run. If interested in helping out, please check out the SignUp Genius to see upcoming work days.

Questions? Email SCCadmin@stagecrafters.org. We look forward to meeting and working with you!
