AUDITION FAQS

WHO CAN AUDITION?

All of our auditions are open unless otherwise specified. Stagecrafters casts non-equity/non-paid actors and crew in their productions. We request that all those working on a show join as members, but YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO AUDITION.

WHEN DO AUDITION NOTICES BECOME AVAILABLE?

One month prior to the audition date, notices will be posted online below and the link to the notice and registration form will become active.

THE AUDITION LINK UNDER THE SHOW DOESN’T WORK. WHAT’S WRONG?

If complete audition information is available, there will be an active link available.

If the link is not active, either the audition date has passed, or the notice hasn’t been posted yet. Check back about one month prior to the audition date.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT AUDITIONING, CONTACT THE DIRECTOR OR PRODUCER LISTED ON THE AUDITION NOTICE, WHICH WILL BE AVAILABLE ONE MONTH PRIOR TO THE AUDITION DATE.

NOTE: all cast lists will be posted on the individual show pages.

General Notes

Stagecrafters is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization based at the Baldwin Theatre in Royal Oak, Michigan. This coming year, more than 200 cast members of all ages and from across Southeastern Michigan will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their friends, families, neighbors and community! Stagecrafters performances have delighted and amazed audiences for more than five decades.

Stagecrafters is an equal opportunity organization. We recruit, employ, train, compensate, and promote without regard to race, religion, creed, color, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.

Individuals cast in the adult productions will be required to pay either a $25 rehearsal fee or $55 ($35 after January 1st) to become a member of Stagecrafters through June 30 of the calendar year. For further information on becoming a member of Stagecrafters, please call (248) 541-8027. Membership information will be mailed to you.

Anyone under the age of 18 wishing to audition for an adult production must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who will sign the audition form acknowledging their support of their child's participation in the production and authorizing the use of the child's photograph for publicity purposes.

Youth Theatre auditions are for youths, age 8 - 18 (not yet graduated from high school) at the time of auditions, no exceptions. Youth Theatre membership is $25 per child.

PLEASE DO NOT bring infants or toddlers to auditions. It can be very distracting to those who are auditioning.

AUDITION NOTICES will be posted online only, one month prior to the audition date.

OFFICE HOURS: 10 am - 2 pm, Mon. - Fri.   (except major holidays)

REHEARSAL SCHEDULES: Rehearsal schedules will be available at auditions. Please bring all conflicts with you to auditions.
